Why before ice
Lyle's in town, gets there early. Burn this 20 min before Dubnyk lands. Lyle then transitions to coaching on ice with Dubnyk for all three goalie sessions.
What we're capturing
"When you're playing well, you're seeing the puck. When you're not, you're not." Connection to head position, the non-negotiables, what the goggles do. 30-60 seconds of Lyle being Lyle.
Camera
Medium close-up, neutral background. Single key + bounce. Same setup will be re-used 2:30-ish for Dubnyk Welcome.

Session 1 · Youth tier · 2012 + 2013 born
Camden Toth + Caleb Wertheimer on ice — Dubnyk + Lyle coaching.
ac_unitOn ice micCoaches on lavs mic_offGoalies no mic helpJersey numbers TBC
Goalies (AAA, Chicagoland)
  • Camden Toth — b. 2013 · Chicago Reapers 11U/12U AAA (highly likely match)
  • Caleb Wertheimer — b. 2012 · Team Illinois 13U AAA (confirmed via Elite Prospects)
Jersey numbers + final spelling check with Lyle before shoot day for lower-thirds.
Drills (2 locked + 1 optional)
Drill 1 · LockedTracking warm-up · puck side-to-side Slow, controlled. Goalie's head LEADS the puck. Easy to read on camera, easy to show goggle-on-head action.
Drill 2 · LockedReaction · single shooter, controlled angle changes Shooter (assist) feeds left/right. Goalie tracks the puck path before reacting. The "see the play before it happens" beat at youth tier.
Drill 3 · OptionalMirror · Dubnyk's pre-shot scan If time. Dubnyk demonstrates, goalie mirrors. Visual proof of the technique at the youngest tier.
Camera coverage (4 angles · fakes multi-cam by repeating each drill from 4 positions)
1
Wide rink — high from bleachers, locked, full ice context, both goalies in frame
2
Tight head/eyes — handheld on ice (Cinematographer in skates), profile of working goalie, goggle visible
3
Slo-mo — 120fps second body on the head-snap moments
4
Coach reaction — Dubnyk or Lyle reacting / coaching, captures the lav audio context

Session 2 · Mid tier · 2009 + 2010 born
Bennett Toth + Cameron Carter on ice — same coaches.
ac_unitOn ice micCoaches on lavs mic_offGoalies no mic
Goalies (AAA)
  • Bennett Toth #30 · b. 2009-10 · Windy City Storm 15U AAA (highly likely match)
  • Cameron Carter #22 · b. 2009-10 · Alaska Wolves 18U AAA (highly likely match)
Bennett Toth and Camden Toth — likely brothers (Toth family). Worth a BTS shot if so.
Drills (2 locked + 1 optional)
Drill 1 · LockedTracking under load · two-shooter sequence Two shooters alternate. Goalie has to RESET his eyes between shots. Demonstrates the "lock it in" beat at mid tier.
Drill 2 · LockedLateral push + track · post-to-post Goalie moves the entire body, eyes stay locked on puck through the move. Hardest thing to do without training — perfect for "this is what the goggles teach" overlay graphics in post.
Drill 3 · OptionalLive shooter, rapid release If time. Closer to game speed, harder to read on camera — primarily for slo-mo cuts.
Camera coverage
Same 4-angle protocol as Session 1 (wide / tight / slo-mo / coach). Different goalies + faster pace = different cuts.

Goalie
  • Oliver Kanat · b. 2008 · Chicago Mission 16U AAA → Junior hockey (confirmed)
Solo session = camera ops only need to track one player. Better focus, cleaner cuts, hero-quality shots.
Drills (2 locked + 1 optional)
Drill 1 · LockedGame-speed tracking · multi-shooter pressure Several shooters cycle. Oliver tracks every puck path. This is THE shot for the launch hero reel — real Junior speed, real product, real tracking visible on slow-mo.
Drill 2 · Locked2-on-0 / pass-and-shoot · forced eye reset The most cinematic drill of the day. Two attackers, one pass, Oliver has to PICK UP the new shooter with his eyes. Demonstrates the highest level of head trajectory training payoff.
Drill 3 · OptionalFree shoot · "let him cook" If time. Live block of pure repetition. Goal-cam (if safe) gets the POV the website hero will use.
Camera coverage
Same 4-angle protocol, plus optional goal-cam (small action cam in the net) for POV if puck strikes are managed safely.

Block 1 · Welcome to the Crew
Dubnyk to camera — personal welcome for new customers.
homeOff-ice (clean BG) micLav mic co_presentTeleprompter ready
What we're capturing
Short authentic testimony — how tracking impacted his NHL career, how he uses the goggles now as a coach. Conversational. The first thing a new customer sees post-purchase + on the site.
Why last
Dubnyk has been on camera all day at this point — warm, comfortable, has all the context from coaching the three sessions. Will deliver the most authentic Welcome at the end, not the start.
Camera
Medium close-up, shallow depth, eye-level. C400 on sticks. B-cam tighter cutaway angle.
Cut target
1× welcome/testimony video (60-90s, web)
Direction
Two-question prompts. Let him talk. We'd rather have 5 min of authentic raw and pull a 75s cut than over-direct.
